The area where Ontario is situated was once used for hunting and foraging by the semi-nomadic Tongva Serrano Indians. Over the centuries, it attracted farmers and those looking for dry climatic condition due to health reasons. Now agriculture is one of the major pillars of city’s economy. In the early years of foundation, Ontario was developed as health resort but later citrus farmers took advantage of its rocky soil to grow lemon and oranges. Later Vintners and Olive growers arrived and these things made it a hub of agricultural activities. The city doesn’t have much to offer in terms of tourist attractions but it has certain things that can be explored as a part of your vacation. The Granada Theatre which was built in 1925 and designed by renowned architect L.A. Smith is now part of the Fox West Coast Theater chain. While in the city you can go visit Ontario Mills Mall, Ontario Convention Center, Auto Club Speedway, Raging Waters, Scandia Amusement Park and K1 Speed which are within walking distance from the city. If you are ready to drive for few minutes then do visit Riverside - Mission Inn, San Bernardino, California Museum of Photography, Blockbuster Pavilion, Glen Ivy Hot Springs and Pole Position Raceway. Lost Angeles is also within driving distance and can be reached easily.
