On arrival there are metro, buses and cars to take you to different destinations. There are helicopters also but these are not part of public transport but getting an aerial view of the city. And there can’t be a better place to do it then Ribeira the area near the river that gives an easy access to the World Heritage Site. A visit to the São Francisco church and the Stock Exchange palace is also highly recommended. A visit to Modern Art museum at Serralves and the Casa da Música should also be part of your itinerary. In downtown you should visit Mercado do Bolhão which is a traditional markets for fruits, vegetables, fish and good for day to day needs. Torre dos Clerigos which is one of the most defining landmarks in the city gives a commanding view of the city. Museum of Sacred Art and Archaeology of The Higher Seminary of Oporto should also be visited for a great experience.
