Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan region of Iraq, has seen transformation from a small town to a buzzing metropolis. This historic structure has seen rise and falls of several civilisations including Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians and Assyrians. One can visit Kurdish Textile Museum where you can see various artefacts related to textile of the region. The visitors also have an opportunity to see contemporary weavers during their visit to museum. Erbil is home to other museums too that include Syriac-Heritage Museum and Erbil Civilisation Museum. Once you are through with city sightseeing and looking for some serene moments then you can go to Minaret Park and Shanidar Park.
