Cuiaba, the capital of Mato Grosso state in Brazil, enjoys a beautiful setting amidst Brazilian cattle country. The city has got modernised in recent years. The name Cuiaba has an indigenous origin meaning ‘arrow fishing’. However its progress largely depended on gold and later agriculture. This land of 500,000 people has seen fast population growth in recent three decades.
