Montreal, one of the most exciting cities in Canada has grace glamour and design as its hallmarks. Very few cities on the earth can match the sophistication of this city in Quebec province. History echoes from the cobbled streets and entire city seems as an exhibition of art and design. This second largest French speaking country in the world also hosts several festivals that offers a peek in to the life of people; Montreal international Jazz Festival is one fine example. Architecture
The city of Montreal is well known for its beautiful architecture and there are several specimens to substantiate this fact. Hotel du Parlement, the national assembly building is one such attraction. English and French tours are available for the tourists. The 30-minute tour takes you through the National Assembly Chamber, the Legislative Council Chamber and the Speakers’ Gallery. The exteriors of the building is adorned with 23 bronze statues representing prominent.

Basilique Notre-Dame
Basilique Notre-Dame is one of the most impressive landmarks in Vieux-Montreal. This huge basilica is designed by Irish architect James O’Donnell and built between 1824-9. This beautiful church features medieval-style interior, walnut-wood carvings and impressive stained-glass windows that make it further interesting. The church also has beautiful painting that every visitor appreciates.
Parc Olympique
Parc Olympique is one of the most visit attractions for sport lovers. The beautiful stadium was also in the centre of controversy during 1970s. The stadium which was built to host the 1976 Olympic Games remained unfinished until the 1980s. The stadium may not have served its real purpose but it is an ideal destination for tourist with its varied exhibitions and activities.
Musée de la Civilisation de Quebec
The museum gets rave reviews from experts and visitors for its collection and multiple offerings. The museum also holds exhibition that are based on history, culture, sports, science and other themes in an interactive and entertaining way. The museum is designed by the renowned architect Moshe Safdie, the man who also built Ottawa’s National Gallery. Some smaller museums are also part of it.
In addition, the city of Montreal is also home to several adventure site shopping hubs and dining options. The city becomes colourful during Montreal Carnival when people make a mass exodus to this city.
