Stunning Sun Moon Lake
The stunning Sun Moon Lake divided by Lalu Island got its name from the unique terrains that look like sun on one side and crescent moon on the other. It is among the natural wonders of Taiwan and is the largest body of fresh water in the country. Situated at an altitude of 762meters, it is one of the pristinely beautiful wonders of nature backed by high-forested mountains and boasts a pleasant climate throughout the year. It is also the most famous source of hydroelectric power attracts more than six million visitors every year.
Adventurous Alishan
Nearly everyone in Taiwan both locals as well as tourists alike will recommended visiting the Alishan National Scenic Area situated in central Taiwan. Magnificent Longshan Temple
It is not among the biggest temples of country but there is something unique about it that keeps people coming back again. The temple was built in 1738 by settlers from Fujian as a gathering place for Chinese settlers. Located in the old village part of Taipei, Wanhau district, this temple has lasted several natural disasters and wars. Its tired roofs, stone columns and huge incense burners make this temple both cozy and ornate. Across the street from the temple is an underground market and is good for shopping for religious items and trinkets.
National Palace Museum
It is one of the best art museums in the world which is visited by more than three million visitors annually. The museum is a home to about 70,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks making it one of the largest repositories of Chinese art. Due to large number of collections the items displayed in the museum are rotated after every three months in order to let the public has the chances to see most of them.
