TAM Airline prepares FIFA World Cup flight schedule

The world’s most anticipated sports event the FIFA World is about to return and is promises to bring with it an exciting sporting spectacle. Brazil the host of this mega event is firmly on the map and visitors from all corners of the world are set to explore other major attractions of country beyond the football matches.

TAM Airline, the leading airline of Brazil and part of LATAM Airline Group is preparing for a different passenger flow throughout the tournament by a stark reduction in business travellers and an increased number of leisure travellers.

In order to provide best services and to deal with the increased demand the airline has developed a new operations schedule which will be activated between 10th June and 15th July. According to this, TAM Airlines to operate over 22,000 flights with in Brazil which is 750, more than are usually operated domestically.

Of these flights, 81 percent will serve the airports of the 12 host cities of the World Cup. Internationally, TAM will operate three weekly direct flights between London and Rio de Janeiro in addition to its regular daily service to Sao Paulo. The other international destinations that will see the largest increase in flight services are Chile and Peru.

By offering a total of 300 international flights throughout the tournament, TAM and LAN will unite Brazil with a third of participating nations and via oneworld alliance, the airlines will be able to connect with 100 percent of participating nations.
