Delta to launch Glasgow - New York service

Soon travelers from Glasgow would be able to fly direct to New York as Delta Airline has announced to serve this route from the summer next year.

The airline will commence operations on this route from May 26 2017 and operate this route throughout the summer. With this launch, Delta would be the only airline operating Glasgow - New York-JFK route.Another airline United Airlines operates services between Glasgow and Newark airport the New York area.

The services would also be good for Glasgow passengers who have to other destinations in the USA as they have options to choose from 60 same-day onward connections throughout the US from JFK.

Delta Airline will operate this route in conjunction to Virgin Atlantic and add to Virgin’s seasonal service from Glasgow to Orlando.Two weeks ago, Delta launched Edinburgh to New York JFK service.

The carrier will operate Glasgow - JFK service using a 164-seat Boeing 757-200ER with wifi facilities.

A senior official from the airline expressed his pleasure on this announcement.He said that with this launch the carrier will be operating flights from four destinations in Scotland and England giving passengers more flying options to the US destinations.
