Garuda Indonesia, the flag carrier of Indonesia, will move from Gatwick to Heathrow. The airline will increase its service from three to five flights a week. The first non-stop flight to Indonesia from the UK will begin services on the 31st of March 2016.
With moving to Heathrow and launching a direct service from Heathrow the UK passengers would have more flight options.
The carrier will operate this five times a week service Jakarta using Boeing 777-300ER’s giving travellers more flexibility. The flights will no longer stop at Amsterdam.
The increased frequency would be highly beneficial for business as well as leisure travellers as it would give improved direct access to the largest economy in South East Asia.
A top official from the airline expressed pleasure on Garuda Indonesia’s arrival to Heathrow saying a regular direct service to one of the largest growth economies in the world would provide more options to passengers.
