Birmingham to China flights to soon become a reality

Soon passengers from West Midland’s Region would have scheduled flights to China. With this launch, Birmingham will become the first city outside London offering scheduled flights to China.
Though no official statement has been made by airline, it is learnt that Beijing Capital Airlines will launch two weekly flights to China from next year.
The flights became possible with the extension of the runway. After launch Birmingham would be the only city in the UK with a direct link to Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province of eastern China.
The proposed route is expected to be well received by business leaders, with China being an important part of the region's growth plans.
China is the West Midlands' top export market and Chinese investors eying major regeneration schemes in Birmingham.
Being the only airport serving Hangzhou, the ninth biggest city in China would be a major boost for Birmingham Airport.
As trade between East Midlands and China is flourishing, the flights will be eying business tourists.
Meanwhile, Hainan Airlines has plans to launch a service from Manchester to Beijing from next June.
