Norwegian, one of the major carriers in Europe, has announced to launch a new service between Edinburgh and Tenerife, an island in Spain. This launch will add 40,000 seats on this route annually.
The flights which are scheduled to be launched on 29 October will be operated twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The budget carrier will operate this route using a new Boeing 737 aircraft with free Wi-Fi for all passengers onboard.
Currently, the airline is serving Copenhagen, Malaga, Oslo and Stockholm routes from Edinburgh Airport, carrying more 150,000 passengers a year.
The budget carrier’s high quality flights have proved popular among Scottish vacationers and the carrier is pleased to launch new year round route from Edinburgh Airport.
Tenerife has been a popular gateway for Scottish travellers and compliments the city breaks like Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.
Currently, Norwegian operates flights from London Gatwick, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester to 34 destinations worldwide.
The carrier also has plans to launch a direct route to the UK which will be launched in November while a new low-cost route from Gatwick to Boston will be launched in May 2016.
The carrier will serve both the new routes with Dreamliner aircraft.
