Wizz Air to launch flights from Birmingham to Sofia

Wizz Air, one of the major budget carriers in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced to operate a new route from Birmingham to Sofia, the Bulgarian capital.

Flights on this route will commence from 27 March, 2016.  The carrier will operate twice weekly flights on this route on Sundays and Wednesdays. The   soon to be launched service is airline’s sixth low-cost route from Birmingham, after services to Bucharest, Budapest, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw.

With the launch of this route, the carrier would be able to offer low-fare routes to four countries from Birmingham.

Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is a tourism destination of repute with its fine blend of East-meets-West-meets-ex-Soviet architecture, impressive orthodox churches and a good number of skiing resorts in the foothills of Vitosha Mountain.

The new route is expected to be well received by travellers from both the cities.
