Paris tourism launches campaign to win back visitors

Paris tourism industry is all set to start a world tour as a part of its "open for business" campaign to give the visitors and agents a message that Paris is undeterred by last week's fatal shootings by militants and it is open for business.
The country which is struggling to get economic growth going, is the most frequented country in the world with almost 85 million foreigners a year. The country receives 150 billion euro ($177 billion) through tourism which is 7% of the nation's GDP.
In Paris and its adjoining areas 550,000 jobs depend on tourism, making it one of the biggest employer. Last year the French capital received 47 million visitors and about half of them were foreign nationals.
Representatives of Paris tourism has plans to visit the UK at the end of February, to Los Angeles in March, Italy, Spain and Germany in April, Hong Kong in May and Tokyo in June.
In the meanwhile, the organization has sent messages to embassies and tour operators that security at city's museums, monuments; big stores and amusement parks have been beefed up. Security at the airport has also been improved. So visitors flying to Paris shouldn’t worry about safety.
Earlier on Monday the French government announced deployment of extra police officers.
The French capital expects a small increase in visitors’ number and this increase is expected from the Middle East, South Korea and China.
