Norwegian, one of the largest low cost airlines in Europe has announced to establish a new long-haul base at London Gatwick Airport. As per announcement, both pilots and cabin crew will be based at London Gatwick.
Norwegian is a major player at London Gatwick and only carrier offering low-cost flights between the UK and the U.S.
A highly placed official from the airline has said that the airline’s hiring in the UK has been well received and many pilots have shown interest to be stationed at London Gatwick and work for the airline that owns most technologically advanced aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner.
Previously, in July this year, Norwegian inaugurated flights from London Gatwick to Los Angeles, New York and Fort Lauderdale. The launch of long haul flights between London Gatwick and the United States is a part of airlines strategy to expand internationally.
The airline has a long- haul fleet of seven 787 Dreamliners and the carrier will add ten more aircrafts in coming days.
