By Carlton Leisure - 20 Jan 2015
Ryanair has announced to launch new Glasgow - Berlin route. An official from the airline said that Scotland will be the focus of Ryanair’s planned “strong growth” in the UK over the next four years. He also announced more flights between the city and Stansted.
The Berlin – Glasgow route will initially operate five times a week but flights will soon go daily.
With this launch, the airline will be competing directly with arch-rival EasyJet, which also flies to the same airport.
It will coincide with a fourth daily return flight on the Glasgow to Stansted route, which started operating last October.
Flights on this route are 90 per cent full, with a fifth daily service expected soon.
The airline official also hinted at new routes from Scotland next year after acquisition of new aircraft.
The airline expects to double in size in coming decade and its large part will take place in Scotland.
