Wizz Air, a low cost airline in Europe, has announced to boost its operations from Belfast International Airport. As a part of this expansion, the carrier has announced to launch flights to Katowice in Poland next year.
The airline will offer twice weekly flights on Belfast - Katowice route starting from 31 March.
Previously this month, the airline had announced a new route from Belfast to the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, which will be inaugurated next April.
Earlier the airline operated flights from Belfast to Katowice and the Polish capital Warsaw, but the services were stopped in 2008.
Located in the middle of Silesia on the banks of the river Rawa, Katowice is a major city known for its industrial, historical and cultural importance.
The launch of these flights would strengthen tourism and business ties between these destinations.
