By Carlton Leisure - 18 Jun 2016
Air Zimbabwe (AirZim) the flag carrier of Zimbabwe has plans to resume flights on the Harare-London route this year. The airline will be launching flights on this route after a hiatus of four-year.
A top official from the airline said that the company had plans to resume flights on this route from July 1, but it had to stall the plans as London and the European Union (EU) introduced new aviation licensing requirements. The new dates would be announced as soon as the carrier meets the new requirements. The carrier has already submitted all the papers required by the British authorities and waiting for the approval to launch flights. The date for the resumption of flights will be announced once licence is issued. Earlier the flights were stopped in 2012.
Two weeks ago the national carrier of Zimbabwe re-introduced flights on the Harare-Dar es Salaam route after a seven year hiatus. The new route is getting good response from the visitors.
